This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Develop and sustain robust relationships with our current energy and utility clients, ensuring an understanding of their specific challenges, pain points, and strategic goals.
• Act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders associated with your accounts, fostering and maintaining strong connections with these individuals.
• Grasp clients' business and technical requirements, objectives, and aims to effectively position our products and services, driving customer success.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, address any concerns, and guarantee their satisfaction with our offerings.
• Track account performance metrics, analyze relevant data, and create reports to monitor progress and identify improvement opportunities.
• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with your accounts to enhance alignment and overall success for both parties, including the formulation of strategic plans.
• Discover and pursue growth opportunities within the existing client base, developing strategies to leverage these chances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and product development to synchronize efforts and support account expansion initiatives.
• Perform detailed account assessments to uncover additional needs or areas where our products and services can add value for clients.
• Introduce and advocate for new products, upgrades, or solutions to clients, highlighting their benefits and potential impact on their business.
• Nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the main contact for strategic accounts and ensuring their needs are met by proactively engaging clients as a trusted advisor, resource, and partner.
• Participate in and facilitate significant client meetings, workshops, industry events, and networking sessions to remain informed about market trends and maintain a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses.
• Anticipate and address risks, issues, or challenges that may arise, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
• Actively solicit feedback from clients to pinpoint areas for improvement and communicate valuable insights to internal teams.
• Work with the sales team to contribute to and support the development of account strategies, sales, and expansion plans.
• Manage contract renewals, negotiations, and upselling opportunities, ensuring a streamlined and successful process while assisting your team in expanding their accounts.
• Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, account updates, and activity reports to management while supporting your team as they build their accounts.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector is highly preferred.
• This role is fully remote; candidates must be willing to support occasional travel as needed for client engagements and industry events (less than 25% of the time).
• At least 5 years of proven experience as an Account Director or in a similar leadership position, demonstrating a successful track record in managing and growing existing accounts in a B2B setting.
• Sales experience is advantageous and considered beneficial, though not mandatory.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving goals.
• Strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of account management principles and best practices.
• Proven history of successfully managing and expanding existing accounts, meeting revenue targets, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Capacity to create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at various levels within client organizations.
• Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Strong technical and business insights.
• Proficient in CRM software and other relevant tools.
• Preferred understanding of Cloud, Web, Mobile App, and Marketing principles.
