• Lead Performance Strategy: Transform client business objectives into comprehensive multi-channel marketing strategies that promote measurable growth.
• Own Client Relationships: Establish trust with senior stakeholders through effective communication, proactive insights, and strategic recommendations.
• Connect the Marketing Ecosystem: Assist clients in understanding how paid media, SEO, creative, data, CRM, websites, CRO, and reporting collaborate to enhance performance.
• Bring Paid Media Fluency: Communicate authoritatively about Google Ads, paid social, and media performance—even if you're not directly managing every in-platform adjustment.
• Spot Issues Early: Analyze performance trends, pose insightful questions, and identify potential problems before they escalate with clients.
• Push Back with Purpose: Challenge client assumptions when necessary—always prioritizing the performance goal over ego, scope protection, or control.
• Manage a Deep Book: Oversee a focused portfolio of accounts, gaining enough insight to thoroughly understand each client’s business, performance drivers, and potential risks.
• Guide Internal Teams: Collaborate with media, SEO, creative, analytics, and strategy teams to ensure work progresses smoothly, priorities remain clear, and outcomes are aligned.
• Tell the Story in the Data: Transform reporting, dashboards, and performance analyses into actionable insights for clients.
• Own the Details: Maintain precision in budgets, forecasts, timelines, documentation, and communication.
• 5+ years of experience in a performance marketing agency. Your background is grounded in performance, paid media, and measurable outcomes—not mainly in brand, creative, or ecommerce-focused roles.
• Account leadership experience in a performance setting. You are either currently an Account Director at a performance marketing agency or have transitioned into account leadership after starting in marketing, paid media, analytics, or campaign management.
• Proficiency in Google Ads is essential. You can discuss Google Ads knowledgeably and know what to investigate when performance fluctuations occur, lead volume diminishes, or conversion quality varies.
• Understanding of the modern marketing ecosystem. You grasp how paid media, SEO, creative, data, CRM, websites, CRO, and analytics interconnect to drive results.
• Depth in paid media strategy. You comprehend how media channels interact, particularly search and social, and can convert performance indicators into strategic insights.
• Experience in client leadership. You have managed client relationships, led strategic discussions, and presented recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Focused account management experience. You are accustomed to managing a significant number of clients—approximately 3 to 8 accounts—rather than spreading your focus across a high-volume list with limited depth.
• Experience with substantial media expenditures. You have collaborated with clients spending a minimum of $50K/month on media per client; $100K+/month is highly preferred.
• Business-first mindset. You discuss revenue, pipeline, lead quality, conversion paths, customer journeys, and business outcomes—beyond just CTRs, CPCs, and platform metrics.
• Low ego, high ownership. You are ready to create the dashboard, seek answers, clarify ambiguities, or fill gaps when the team requires assistance.
