Access Optimization Analyst III – Epic Cadence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Coordinate, gather customer feedback, and project resource needs for EPIC access initiatives.

• Oversee the integration of physician practices into front-end EPIC systems through phases of discovery, design, testing, implementation, and optimization.

• Evaluate operational workflow effects and assess the feasibility of requests.

• Direct internal communications to ensure standardization in EPIC design and build processes.

• Sustain the service relationship between IT and end-users of the application.

• Manage change requests and evaluate their potential effects.

• Confirm gatekeeper change approvals and validate modifications in production.

• Ensure the accuracy of questionnaires and decision trees post-implementation.

• Oversee EPIC testing and validation processes.

• Prioritize requests based on urgency, time constraints, efficiency, and training requirements.

• Suggest best practices and explore new system functionalities and technologies.

• Supervise projects from inception to implementation.

• Analyze processes and propose technology-driven improvements for efficiency.

• Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert for Epic Cadence scheduling design and related workflows.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance scheduling solutions for patient access, provider scheduling, and operational objectives.

• Collaborate with operational teams, Access Transformation, and ITD technical teams to standardize workflows and offer functional guidance.

• Implement enhancements that align with enterprise standards, best practices, and organizational goals.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, along with four years of EPIC system experience in an outpatient context, or four years of experience supporting EPIC applications that includes optimization.

• A High School Diploma/GED with eight years of experience in IT or a related field, or an Associate’s Degree with six years of experience in IT or a related field.

• EPIC Cadence Certification at a proficient level.

• Strong understanding of workflows within the ambulatory environment.

• Capability to lead, inspire, influence, analyze, synthesize, and articulate complex subjects.

• Proven progressive experience and success in leading and motivating peers.

• Comfort and experience working at all levels within a healthcare organization.

• Extensive experience in Epic Cadence build and workflow design.

• Comprehensive understanding of patient access, provider scheduling, and ambulatory operations.

• Familiarity with decision trees, Epic Masterfiles (SER, DEP, PRC, PLS, SGRS, BLKS, etc.), work queues, Fast Pass, and patient self-scheduling.

• Ability to convert operational requirements into technical solutions.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and workflow optimization abilities.

• Capability to perform work in a stationary position for prolonged periods.

• Willingness to travel within the hospital system.

• Proficiency in operating a computer and other office equipment.

• Effective communication skills to exchange accurate information.

• Compliance with required personal protective equipment and Standard Precautions is mandatory.

• Employment offers are contingent upon controlled-substance testing.

• Must adhere to the annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption.
