3D Environment Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Develops high-quality environmental art with a keen focus on lighting, mood, and atmosphere.

• Constructs, refines, and optimizes lighting configurations that align with gameplay, narrative, and artistic vision.

• Works closely with art direction, level design, and technical art teams to ensure that lighting improves spatial clarity and performance.

• Creates and manages lighting passes, post-processing profiles, and environment shaders/materials as required.

• Diagnoses lighting problems related to performance, consistency, or technical limitations across various platforms.

• Aids in visual benchmarks and assists in setting best practices for lighting workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a stylized Environment Artist on high-quality mobile game projects.

• Strong portfolio showcasing lighting, composition, and essential environment art principles.

• Proficient with contemporary game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines).

• Solid grasp of lighting theory, color theory, exposure, and real-time rendering techniques.

• Experience with PBR workflows and optimization for real-time environments.

• Capacity to collaborate across different disciplines and rapidly iterate based on feedback.

• Familiarity with lighting tools, profiling/debugging, or scripting for workflow automation.
