This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Sawhorse Productions is in search of a skilled 2D Roblox Artist eager to contribute to the visual development of our Roblox experiences.

• In this position, you will produce high-quality 2D art, user interface elements, thumbnails, and game graphics that enliven our worlds, aligning with both gameplay and marketing objectives.

• You will work closely with developers, designers, and creative leads to ensure that assets are visually engaging, optimized for performance, and compatible with the platform.

• This is a freelance hourly role, requiring availability from Monday to Friday during core working hours of 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM PST.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2D Art & Graphic Design: Produce refined 2D graphics, illustrations, textures, particles, icons, and visual assets for Roblox experiences, marketing content, and in-game usage.

• UI Art for Roblox: Design UI elements native to Roblox that adhere to the platform’s structural framework and technical limitations while ensuring strong visual appeal.

• Game Asset Support: Assist in creating accessories, clothing, map visuals, icons, thumbnails, and supplementary graphics that enhance 3D environments and gameplay.

• Concept Development: Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm and cultivate visual concepts that align with project objectives, brand guidelines, and gameplay requirements.

• Brand Consistency: Maintain visual uniformity across all assets while aiding the evolution of visual style and branding for Roblox projects.

• Collaboration with Developers: Partner directly with developers to ensure seamless asset implementation, proper sizing, optimization, and alignment with gameplay systems.

• Iteration & Feedback: Modify designs based on creative feedback, insights from playtesting, and changing project needs.

• Trend Awareness: Stay informed about Roblox trends, visual styles, and platform best practices to introduce fresh ideas into active projects.

• Qualifications: A strong candidate for this role should possess the following attributes:

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years as a 2D Artist or Graphic Designer, preferably in gaming, user-generated content platforms, or interactive media.

• Roblox Familiarity: Practical experience in creating art for Roblox or strong knowledge of Roblox visual standards and UI systems.

• Design Tools: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Art Fundamentals: A solid understanding of composition, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy.

• Portfolio: A compelling portfolio demonstrating 2D artwork, UI design, game graphics, or interactive media projects.

• Collaboration: An effective communicator with the ability to collaborate efficiently across creative and technical teams.

• Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.

• Nice To Haves:

• Experience in creating thumbnails or key art for Roblox games.

• Basic knowledge of 3D pipelines and how 2D assets contribute to 3D environments.

• Familiarity with user-generated content gaming platforms beyond Roblox.

• Experience in startup or agency-style creative teams.
