YouTube Channel Translator, Content Localizer – German to English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Translate and adapt German Simplicissimus scripts into English, rephrasing them to align with fern's unique voice and tone.

• Modify structure and wording as necessary to enhance flow and clarity.

• Conduct research and rewrite sections to ensure content is accessible and engaging for a global audience.

• Stay updated on relevant topics and incorporate new developments to maintain content relevance.

• View original videos to adjust on-screen text and investigate international equivalents of visual components like headlines and graphics for the production team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English with outstanding writing capabilities, preferably as a native speaker of American English (essential).

• Strong understanding of German language (essential).

• Demonstrated experience in translation and localization, particularly in editorial content.

• Exceptional skill in adapting tone and voice to fit an established channel style.

• Comprehensive research abilities and a keen eye for factual accuracy.

• Capacity to provide cultural context and recognize necessary adaptations for an international audience.

• Experience in writing or modifying scripts for video formats.

• Ability to work autonomously and produce high-quality work within set deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.

• Background in journalism, documentary, or factual storytelling (desirable).

• Familiarity with Simplicissimus, fern, or similar documentary-oriented channels (desirable).
