XML Programmer – Vehicles Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, execute, and sustain aircraft systems and logic for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024

• Construct dependable, high-performance, and SDK-compliant systems utilizing XML and RPN

• Work in conjunction with project leaders, flight model developers, and artists

• Animate aircraft systems, interactions, and animations to enhance realism

• Balance technical precision, maintainability, and performance across both simulator versions

• Create and uphold aircraft systems using MSFS SDK XML and RPN logic

• Implement and oversee Behaviors, Templates, and Components within the MSFS framework

• Modify, configure, and manage MSFS CFG files

• Optimize aircraft systems, avionics, and interactions through CFG and XML integration

• Generate, structure, and maintain MSFS package sources, including SimObjects, ModelBehaviors, and Panels

• Ensure compatibility across MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 projects

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing systems for stability, realism, and performance

• Adhere to MSFS SDK best practices to facilitate future updates and modular development

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024

• Profound knowledge of XML and RPN within the MSFS SDK

• Extensive experience with MSFS Behaviors, particularly animations, logic, and interactions

• Capability to edit and manage aircraft configuration files: aircraft.cfg, systems.cfg, and panel.cfg

• Ability to accurately create, organize, and maintain MSFS package sources

• Strong understanding of MSFS project structure and build workflow

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities

• Experience with FS24 modular package architecture

• Knowledge of creating and maintaining modular packages for MSFS 2024

• Experience with intricate aircraft systems, including electrical, fuel, and avionics

• Familiarity with gauges, templates, macros, and reusable SDK components

• Prior experience with released MSFS aircraft or mods
