WordPress Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Define, implement, and enhance software development, updating, and testing processes to ensure the quality and traceability of deliverables.

• Mentor and guide a team of developers and analysts, fostering best engineering practices, version control, and thorough documentation.

• Plan, execute, and oversee e-commerce solutions and online learning environments for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education courses.

• Maintain and optimize infrastructure hosted on managed cloud services, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

• Develop, integrate, and customize solutions on WordPress and Moodle platforms, focusing on plugins such as WooCommerce, LearnDash, WP Fusion, and HubSpot, to align solutions with course commercialization and delivery needs.

• Monitor, identify, and resolve technical issues, particularly those related to integrations between platforms and associated systems.

• Update and maintain mobile applications linked to institutional platforms, ensuring an optimal user experience for students and applicants.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (marketing, product, academic) to ensure that technological solutions align with the institution's commercial and educational objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in web development using PHP and JavaScript, particularly with the WordPress platform, WooCommerce, and integrations with external systems.

• Strong background in creating and customizing WordPress plugins, including integrations with CRM plugins (such as HubSpot), LMS (like LearnDash, Moodle), and automation and e-commerce solutions.

• In-depth understanding of software development processes, including version control (Git), documentation, testing, continuous delivery, and quality management.

• Process-oriented mindset with a focus on organization and continuous improvement.

• Familiarity with AI tools used in development, such as Cursor AI, GitHub Copilot, or IDEs equipped with AI capabilities.

• Experience with cloud environments, especially in the maintenance, optimization, and security of managed platforms.

• Strong communication skills and technical leadership ability, serving as a liaison between developers and institutional areas.

• Interest in education, including participation in teaching activities at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
