Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +23 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and test high-quality software applications and features utilizing C#, React/NextJs, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Create, implement, and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests to uphold code quality, system reliability, and ensure continuous delivery.

• Regularly deliver new functionality during bi-weekly sprints.

• Proactively identify needs and initiate solutions before issues arise.

• Develop and maintain documentation related to features, design decisions, configurations, and other critical technical aspects of the application.

• Collaborate actively with fellow developers, QA engineers, designers, and product experts within a cross-functional scrum team.

• Assist in defining scope and estimation for proposed features, leading to precise cost and timeline assessments.

• Propose, prototype, and advocate for technologies and processes that continuously enhance Skillable’s integration solutions.

• Mentor other software team members to promote skill development and knowledge sharing.

• Establish high-quality development patterns and practices, ensuring adherence to these standards by the team.

• Suggest alternative designs that improve time-to-market or reduce costs and complexity.

• Investigate and recommend new technologies, patterns, and methods to achieve objectives outlined in the technical and product roadmaps.

• Advise on standards and best practices for non-functional requirements such as system performance, usability, reliability, adaptability, security, and other operational factors.

• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation during evenings, weekends, or holidays for emergency support or special events.

• Regularly review work to ensure quality, preventing errors and maintaining high standards.

• Support and promote company values through positive interactions with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.

• Engage in other strategic business initiatives or special cross-functional project involvement as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (computer software, computer science, software development, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 7 years of professional experience as a software developer in an agile product team.

• Proven experience in C#, React, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Demonstrated experience with MSSQL and Entity Framework.

• Skilled in collaborating with UX designers to translate designs into functional software.

• Proficient in creating and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Solid experience in Unit Testing.

• Experience with cloud-native applications.

• Proactively addresses challenges, seeking avenues for continuous enhancement.

• Self-motivated with the ability to contribute effectively with minimal supervision within a collaborative team setting.

• Capable of adapting to dynamic project requirements while maintaining quality and focus.

• Available to participate in the team’s on-call rotation during evenings, weekends, or holidays for emergency support or special events.

• Familiarity with the following is appreciated but not mandatory: Authentication (e.g., OIDC, OAuth, SAML), NextJS, ExpressJS, and building pipelines and DevOps practices.
