This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• **Position Responsibilities:**
• **Technical Responsibilities:**
• Develop and tailor WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up
• Transform design mockups into pixel-perfect, responsive websites
• Create dynamic functionalities utilizing PHP and JavaScript
• Enhance websites for speed, performance, and SEO optimization
• Guarantee mobile responsiveness and compatibility across various browsers
• Conduct code reviews for junior developers while offering mentorship
• Execute integrations with APIs and third-party applications
• Oversee deployments and resolve hosting issues on platforms like WP Engine
• Update and enhance existing websites based on client and SEO requirements
• **Cross-Functional Responsibilities:**
• Work in partnership with designers, project managers, and SEO experts to provide solutions
• Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Offer technical support and guidance to junior developers
• Assist internal teams with inquiries or technical challenges related to development
• **Minimum Requirements:**
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential
• Over 3 years of experience in web development, with a minimum of 1-2 years specializing in WordPress
• Expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SASS
• Familiarity with ACF Pro, Gravity Forms, Yoast, and CPT
• Understanding of WordPress core functions and architecture
• Experience with Git/version control systems
• Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Capability to mentor and guide junior developers
• Clear and effective communication skills across teams
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results
• Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• **Preferred Skills:**
• Experience with managed hosting services such as WP Engine, Kinsta, or Flywheel
• Knowledge of SEO best practices in web development
• Familiarity with website performance testing tools (e.g., PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix)
• Experience with integrating Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or similar tools
