This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Fulfill contractual commitments in accordance with customer specifications and daily site and hub operations.
• Maintain, repair, or substitute components to rectify issues in GE wind turbine generator systems.
• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical challenges on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Assist in all facets of site operations as instructed by the manager with minimal oversight.
• Adhere to all safety protocols.
• Conduct diagnostic electrical assessments.
• Record all tasks using computer-based service reporting systems.
• Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
• Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract obligations and deadlines.
• Travel locally within the hub.
• High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Fundamental computer skills.
• A valid driver’s license that must be maintained.
• Capability to manage repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.
• Ability to ascend towers up to 300 feet on a daily basis.
• Must comply with manufacturer weight restrictions not exceeding 300 lbs., inclusive of required gear.
• Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks based on contract commitments.
• Initiative to work independently without direct supervision.
• Flexibility to undertake rotating shifts and on-call schedules.
• Availability for occasional overnight shifts as needed by the hub.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field is preferred.
• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field is preferred.
• Experience with wind turbines.
• Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic power tools.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance and crane and rigging requirements.
• Geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in specific regions.
