
Wide Format Service Technician – Traveling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver technical assistance to customers via phone and on-site visits.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, software updates, machine modifications, retrofits, and preventative maintenance on production printing equipment.
• Execute equipment installations, deinstallations, relocations, and provide training for customer operators.
• Follow up with clients post-installation to ensure their expectations have been fulfilled and that the equipment is functioning correctly.
• Oversee and organize upcoming installations, including confirming readiness requirements such as power availability, forklift scheduling, and RIP software compatibility.
• Deliver high-quality technical support by completing service calls in accordance with company standards and service agreements.
• Assist customers with inquiries related to equipment and offer advice on color management and production workflows.
• Acquire a functional understanding of Onyx software and RIP systems to support customer print production environments.
• Comprehend how RIP software governs print production and aid customers with general operational queries.
• Engage in continuous training programs to stay updated on products, software, and service procedures.
• Support sales teams by recognizing equipment upgrade opportunities and contributing to technical evaluations.
• Keep precise service records and documentation.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant field service experience.
• Experience in servicing and repairing wide format equipment and related technologies.
• Preference for candidates with experience in Canon wide format print equipment.
• Preferred knowledge of Onyx software and production RIP workflows.
• Strong understanding of computer systems and networking.
• Excellent mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid working knowledge of Windows operating systems and associated applications.
• Highly driven individual capable of working independently from a home office.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, mainly throughout the Central and Eastern United States.
• Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
