Web Traffic Analytics, Akamai Bot Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Proficient in Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

• Experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Server-Side GTM

• Familiarity with CDN platforms such as Akamai or Fastly

• Practical experience with Akamai Bot Management, including Client Reputation, Content Protector, and traffic classification

• Expertise in creating dashboards using Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana

• Understanding of HTTP, cookies, browser behavior, headers, and JavaScript

• Skilled in investigating analytics discrepancies and attribution concerns

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

⛳️ Requirements

• Oversee traffic quality across numerous dealership websites.

• Examine traffic patterns to detect bots, crawlers, spam, and invalid sessions.

• Collaborate with the Analytics team to ensure precise GA4, server-side tagging, and event collection.

• Work alongside the Launch team to validate analytics implementations prior to websites going live.

• Confirm CDN and Akamai Bot Management configurations are accurately deployed during new launches.

• Create dashboards that differentiate between human traffic and automated traffic.

• Establish and maintain allowlists for search engines, OEM integrations, uptime monitoring, and approved third-party services.

• Investigate any unusual fluctuations in traffic, conversions, engagement, or attribution.

• Configure and optimize Akamai Bot Management policies while reducing false positives and ensuring a seamless user experience.

• Validate cookie consent, tracking pixels, GTM/server-side GTM, and analytics configurations.

• Guarantee that marketing campaigns and reporting remain unaffected by invalid traffic.

• Analyze HTTP requests, headers, cookies, referrers, user agents, IP reputation, and behavioral signals to classify traffic.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure that bot traffic is excluded from reporting and downstream data platforms.

• Develop documentation, launch checklists, and standards to validate traffic quality.
