Web Traffic Analytics, Akamai Bot Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee traffic quality across numerous dealership websites.

• Assess traffic trends to detect bots, crawlers, spam, and invalid sessions.

• Collaborate with the Analytics team to guarantee precise GA4, server-side tagging, and event collection.

• Coordinate with the Launch team to confirm analytics implementations prior to website launches.

• Ensure that CDN and Akamai Bot Management configurations are correctly set up during new launches.

• Create dashboards that differentiate between human traffic and automated traffic.

• Establish and manage allowlists for search engines, OEM integrations, uptime monitoring, and authorized third-party services.

• Examine unusual fluctuations in traffic, conversions, engagement, or attribution.

• Configure and enhance Akamai Bot Management policies while reducing false positives and preserving a seamless user experience.

• Validate cookie consent, tracking pixels, GTM/server-side GTM, and analytics setups.

• Ensure that marketing campaigns and reporting remain unaffected by invalid traffic.

• Analyze HTTP requests, headers, cookies, referrers, user agents, IP reputation, and behavioral signals to categorize traffic.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to guarantee that bot traffic is excluded from reporting and downstream data platforms.

• Produce documentation, launch checklists, and standards for validating traffic quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

• Familiarity with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Server-Side GTM.

• Understanding of CDN platforms such as Akamai or Fastly.

• Practical experience with Akamai Bot Management, including Client Reputation, Content Protector, and traffic classification.

• Experience with dashboard tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana).

• Knowledge of HTTP, cookies, browser behavior, headers, and JavaScript.

• Experience in investigating analytics discrepancies and attribution challenges.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
