Web Traffic Analytics, Akamai Bot Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee traffic quality on a multitude of dealership websites.

• Examine traffic trends to detect bots, crawlers, spam, and invalid sessions.

• Collaborate with the Analytics team to guarantee precise GA4, server-side tagging, and event data collection.

• Coordinate with the Launch team to confirm analytics implementations prior to website launches.

• Ensure that CDN and Akamai Bot Management configurations are accurately set up for new launches.

• Create dashboards that differentiate between human traffic and automated traffic.

• Establish and maintain allowlists for search engines, OEM integrations, uptime monitoring, and approved third-party services.

• Investigate any irregularities in traffic, conversions, engagement, or attribution.

• Configure and optimize Akamai Bot Management policies, reducing false positives while ensuring a smooth user experience.

• Validate cookie consent, tracking pixels, GTM/server-side GTM, and analytics setups.

• Confirm that marketing campaigns and reporting remain unaffected by invalid traffic.

• Analyze HTTP requests, headers, cookies, referrers, user agents, IP reputation, and behavioral indicators to categorize traffic.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to exclude bot traffic from reporting and downstream data systems.

• Produce documentation, launch checklists, and standards for traffic quality assessment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

• Knowledge of Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Server-Side GTM

• Familiarity with CDN platforms such as Akamai or Fastly

• Practical experience with Akamai Bot Management, including Client Reputation, Content Protector, and traffic classification

• Experience with dashboard tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana)

• Understanding of HTTP, cookies, browser behavior, headers, and JavaScript

• Proven experience in investigating analytics discrepancies and attribution challenges

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
