Web Traffic Analytics, Akamai Bot Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the quality of traffic across numerous dealership websites.

• Examine traffic trends to detect bots, crawlers, spam, and invalid sessions.

• Collaborate with the Analytics team to guarantee precise GA4, server-side tagging, and event collection.

• Coordinate with the Launch team to validate analytics implementations prior to website launches.

• Confirm that CDN and Akamai Bot Management settings are accurately deployed for new launches.

• Create dashboards that differentiate between human traffic and automated traffic.

• Establish and manage allowlists for search engines, OEM integrations, uptime monitoring, and authorized third-party services.

• Investigate unexpected fluctuations in traffic, conversions, engagement, or attribution.

• Configure and enhance Akamai Bot Management policies while reducing false positives and ensuring a smooth user experience.

• Validate cookie consent, tracking pixels, GTM/server-side GTM, and analytics setups.

• Ensure that marketing campaigns and reporting remain unaffected by invalid traffic.

• Analyze HTTP requests, headers, cookies, referrers, user agents, IP reputation, and behavioral signals to categorize traffic.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure bot traffic is excluded from reports and downstream data platforms.

• Create documentation, launch checklists, and standards for validating traffic quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

• Experienced with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Server-Side GTM.

• Familiarity with CDN platforms such as Akamai or Fastly.

• Practical experience with Akamai Bot Management, including Client Reputation, Content Protector, and traffic classification.

• Background in dashboards (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana).

• Understanding of HTTP, cookies, browser behavior, headers, and JavaScript.

• Experience in investigating analytics discrepancies and attribution challenges.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
