This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and maintain WordPress websites following approved designs, templates, content, and brand guidelines.
• Construct responsive page layouts, navigation, forms, and reusable components using WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Set up themes, child themes, page builders, custom fields, plugins, and WordPress configurations.
• Migrate and manage website content while enhancing formatting, usability, SEO, internal linking, metadata, and accessibility.
• Diagnose and resolve layout, styling, plugin, browser, mobile, hosting, performance, and integration challenges.
• Conduct comprehensive website quality assurance across various devices and browsers, including links, forms, navigation, redirects, tracking, and responsive designs.
• Identify and rectify common ADA/WCAG accessibility issues through automated scanning and manual testing.
• Implement SEO and GEO best practices, including page titles, headings, meta descriptions, image optimization, schema, redirects, and internal linking.
• Assist in the configuration and validation of GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, conversion tracking, and sanctioned integrations.
• Work alongside internal teams to address issues, enhance website performance, and ensure timely project delivery.
• Record findings and document implementation efforts.
• Over 3 years of practical experience in WordPress development, implementation, or technical website operations.
• A portfolio showcasing complete WordPress websites with technical customizations beyond basic content management or page-builder usage.
• In-depth understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
• Proficient in JavaScript, responsive design, browser compatibility, and code inspection.
• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting WordPress themes, plugins, templates, and site settings.
• Solid knowledge of website accessibility and WCAG best practices, including addressing ADA-related accessibility challenges.
• Familiarity with SEO and GEO/AI search optimization, including metadata, schema, internal linking, page speed, and mobile usability.
• Background in website QA, responsive and browser testing, launch checklists, DNS, SSL, redirects, caching, backups, and deployments.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills to oversee multiple website projects and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in web development, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with PHP, WordPress template hierarchy, hooks, filters, and secure customization practices.
• Experience with WP Engine or other managed WordPress hosting services.
• Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools and knowledge of ADA, Section 508, and VPAT/ACR documentation.
• Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, structured data, and SEO/GEO tools.
• Awareness of Git, WordPress security, performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and plugin management.
• Background in supporting multi-site programs, agencies, SaaS clients, golf courses, hospitality, recreation, or membership-based organizations.
