Web Frontend Engineer – Camera & Video, Image Recognition

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance web frontend systems, emphasizing capabilities related to camera, video, and image recognition.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Backend, Algorithm, and other teams to implement frontend workflows, which encompass data collection, API integration, result display, and exception management.

• Integrate external image recognition services, including SDK integration, API troubleshooting, error management, and user experience optimization.

• Construct a highly available, maintainable, and scalable frontend architecture while consistently enhancing performance, stability, and compatibility across devices.

• Engage in technical design reviews, code evaluations, frontend engineering enhancements, and the resolution of critical issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundational knowledge in web frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript, browser rendering, networking, caching, and performance optimization.

• Proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework such as React / Vue, with experience in building complex business systems or internal platforms.

• Solid understanding of frontend engineering principles, including modular architecture, component design, state management, build tools, coding standards, unit testing / E2E testing, and CI/CD processes.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, capable of independently diagnosing production issues, compatibility challenges, performance bottlenecks, and complex UI interactions.

• Experience in camera capture, video streaming, image recognition, computer vision, or related projects is highly desirable.

• Experience with integration of major image recognition services is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with WebRTC, MediaDevices API, Canvas, image compression, file uploads, and video stream processing is an advantage.

• Backend development experience (Node.js / Java / Go / Python) is a plus, along with an understanding of API design, authentication, and server-side data flows.

• Basic knowledge of algorithms or computer vision (object detection, feature point extraction, image quality assessment, etc.) is a bonus.

• Strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and the ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve resolutions.
