This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Formulate and guide the strategy for PQE's strategic testing tools and quality engineering capabilities throughout the organization.
• Lead and cultivate a compact, high-performing team dedicated to enterprise testing tools, innovation, enablement, and transformation.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader in assessing, implementing, optimizing, and scaling testing tools alongside supporting engineering utilities.
• Promote the enterprise-wide adoption of strategic testing tools via standards, enablement, coaching, and effectiveness measurement.
• Develop and enhance tool labs and innovation initiatives to evaluate emerging testing technologies, accelerators, and AI-assisted engineering capabilities.
• Oversee proof-of-concept projects, technical evaluations, and feasibility studies to guide strategic investment choices.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, and delivery leaders to ensure that testing tools align with platform strategies, developer workflows, and enterprise engineering standards.
• Mentor and coach engineers, SDETs, and leaders on contemporary quality engineering practices, tool utilization, and the adoption of enhanced engineering methodologies.
• Spearhead transformation rollout initiatives related to quality engineering modernization, assisting teams in embracing new tools, operating practices, and standards at scale.
• Establish and monitor success metrics related to tool adoption, engineering effectiveness, quality enhancements, and delivery efficiency.
• Drive standardization and minimize fragmentation across testing tools and associated quality engineering practices.
• Promote the utilization of AI-assisted testing and engineering tools, including experimentation, governance, practical applications, and large-scale adoption.
• Provide technical leadership and strategic insights to senior management regarding opportunities to enhance quality engineering maturity and engineering effectiveness throughout the organization.
• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, test engineering, or related technical fields.
• More than 5 years of experience in leading technical teams and developing engineering talent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive technical knowledge in software engineering, quality engineering, testing tools, and modern software delivery practices.
• Proven track record in evaluating, implementing, and scaling enterprise testing tools and quality engineering solutions across various teams or product domains.
• Strong hands-on experience with testing technologies across UI, API, integration, and related engineering scenarios.
• Proficient programming or scripting skills in languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Bamboo, or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated success in driving organizational adoption of technical tools, practices, and standards.
• Proven capability to lead highly technical, cross-functional initiatives across engineering, architecture, and platform teams.
• Strong communication and leadership presence, with the ability to influence at both engineering and executive levels.
• Demonstrated ability to steer technical transformation while remaining engaged with implementation details and hands-on engineering decisions.
