This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) team in the development, design, execution, integration, and maintenance of software testing plans and procedures related to Big Data Architecture and the Whitebox platform.

• Establish and advocate software testing methodologies while spearheading process improvement initiatives and optimizing QA documentation.

• Drive project delivery efforts.

• Support project teams with risk assessments and represent QA in cross-functional project teams.

• Provide reports on various key QA metrics to senior leadership.

• Supervise engineering staff.

• Deliver presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience as a Lead Engineer in Quality Assurance/Testing or in software quality assurance is required.

• Experience in mentoring junior QA engineers.

• Proficiency in presenting and defending software decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.

• Proven track record in leading project delivery efforts: providing constructive feedback, scheduling meetings, enhancing processes, and demonstrating strong engineering delivery and execution capabilities, with significant experience in design concepts, development, integration, and testing.

• Familiarity with high-performance distributed computing technologies; programming in accordance with ISTQB standards; Oracle/Sun Java architecture; IBM Rational tools; managing large and complex datasets (over 1B records/week); both automated and manual testing strategies; and tools such as HP Quality Center and QTP including test scripts for marketing analysis in the CPG industry; SQL; UNIX/LINUX.
