Visual Interpreter, PT Weekend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Represent the Aira brand by consistently demonstrating helpfulness, consistency, creativity, and kindness.

• Deliver an outstanding customer experience by effectively and accurately utilizing training and tools (both proprietary and third-party) to assist blind and low vision customers.

• Play a pivotal role in the organization's growth and success as a vital member of the Aira team by supporting fellow Visual Interpreters.

• Continuously enhance your visual interpreting skills through ongoing education and training.

• Present on-demand visual information to blind and low vision customers in a clear and precise manner.

• Answer calls consistently during scheduled hours.

• Exhibit a calm and professional demeanor that fosters trust and aligns with the Aira mission.

• Actively engage and support the team by participating in team-building activities, offering constructive suggestions, encouraging fellow Visual Interpreters, and contributing to the overall growth and development of the organization.

• Uphold strict standards of data privacy and confidentiality.

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

• Adhere to all Aira policies and procedures, upholding the organization’s values, beliefs, and principles.

• Anticipate the needs of Explorers to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

• Seek and respond to constructive feedback, applying insights from others to enhance personal skills.

• Exhibit adaptability in response to uncertainties or shifting priorities, managing various types of calls and situations effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be an enthusiastic, eager, and articulate communicator.

• Should be mission-driven with inherent problem-solving abilities.

• Must adapt well to new technological systems and processes.

• Comfortable with using PCs, Macs, smartphones, applications, and online platforms.

• Strong spatial awareness and a good sense of direction, capable of orienting oneself using 2D and 3D maps and visual cues.

• Possess robust investigative research skills and be persistent in seeking information.

• Utilize creative problem-solving skills and excel under pressure.

• Have a strong vocabulary and the ability to use descriptive language effectively.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

• At least 18 years of age.

• Fluent in English.

• Legal authorization to work and reside in the United States or Canada.

• Have a private workspace free from background noise, family, friends, pets, visitors, etc.

• Must use headphones with a noise-canceling microphone that has a USB connection.

• Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps is required.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in customer service, call center environments, or technical support is desirable.

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in accessibility technology.

• Knowledge of the full range of accommodations utilized by the blind and low vision community (e.g., JAWS).

• Bilingual proficiency in French or Spanish (spoken and written) is a plus.
