Virtual Medical Receptionist – Patient Coordinator, Optometry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage high-volume incoming patient calls while delivering outstanding customer service.

• Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments as needed.

• Address patient inquiries related to appointments, services, insurance, and office policies.

• Initiate outbound calls for appointment confirmations, recalls, follow-ups, and missed appointments.

• Optimize provider schedules to enhance efficiency and reduce scheduling gaps.

• Update patient demographics and insurance information while documenting communications in the EMR system.

• Accurately route messages to providers and office staff.

• Assist with daily front office operations while ensuring accurate maintenance of patient records.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an Optometry medical office.

• Previous experience in scheduling patients within an Optometry practice.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Exceptional English communication skills with minimal or no noticeable accent.

• Proven experience managing high-volume inbound patient calls.

• Strong background in appointment scheduling.

• Professional, friendly, and confident demeanor on the phone.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Crystal Practice Manager.

• Experience with the Weave phone system.

• Knowledge of optical and vision care processes.

• Experience in scheduling routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, and specialty eye care services.

• Experience in verifying vision and medical insurance benefits.

• Prior experience supporting multiple providers in a fast-paced practice.

• Please be aware that this is a part-time contractor role (32-33 hours per week) with a compensation rate of $6 - $7 per hour based on skills and experience. The working schedule is Monday through Friday, in alignment with U.S. business hours.
