This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Edit and create high-quality, social-first short-form video content, optimized for platform performance at every stage.
• Design and animate clear, engaging motion graphic sequences that effectively illustrate complex scientific concepts.
• Edit branded short-form video content, collaborating closely with the sponsorship sales team and proposing ideas in response to brand briefs as needed.
• Oversee the entire post-production process for videos, including editing, sound design, graphics, animation, and versioning.
• Adapt content for various platforms, ranging from YouTube Shorts to Patreon to Facebook.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing speed, quality, and budget without sacrificing creative standards.
• Ensure all output aligns with Veritasium’s editorial, brand, and client expectations.
• Proactively create and refine new short-form formats and creative strategies in collaboration with editorial and commercial teams.
• Provide strong creative direction for both editorial and branded content projects.
• Brainstorm, test, and pilot new ideas with a clear understanding of audience behavior and performance metrics in a social-first context.
• Demonstrated success in delivering high-performing social-first video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Strong technical skills in editing and post-production workflows, with advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Proficient in motion graphics, keyframe animation, and basic visual effects.
• Deep understanding of platform algorithms, best practices, and the drivers of audience engagement.
• Data-driven mindset, capable of analyzing competitors and iterating on successful strategies.
• Commercially savvy, with the ability to balance creative aspirations with brand and business objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities, with a knack for effective collaboration across editorial and commercial teams.
• Highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
• Clear and confident communicator.
• Familiarity with emerging AI tools for video production, including experience in applying them in practical workflows.
• Proactive, collaborative, and innovative, with a passion for social-first storytelling.
• Good understanding of the short-form video landscape within the STEM sector.
• Interest in science.
• Proficiency in 3D animation software, such as Blender, is a plus.
