Video Editor – Long form YouTube videos

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• The primary focus of this position is to edit long-form YouTube videos.

• You will be responsible for editing talking head content that includes B-roll integration, text overlays, motion graphics, screen recordings, multi-camera setups, and reaction-style edits across various client channels.

• Your workload will consist of editing at least 12 videos per month, with the potential to increase to 16.

• You will receive feedback from the founder, account managers, and occasionally directly from clients.

• You are open to constructive criticism, ask insightful questions if any feedback is unclear, and you are quick to implement revisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• You are a dedicated editor who consumes YouTube content extensively and recognizes what sets the top channels apart from the rest.

• You pay attention to pacing choices, you identify when a cut is significantly impactful versus merely filling space, and you understand that effective editing is about audience retention rather than mere aesthetics.

• You have previous experience editing YouTube content, beyond just personal projects.

• You have contributed to channels with substantial audiences and comprehend what successful content looks like from an editor's perspective.

• You are efficient yet maintain high quality in your work.

• Your editing toolkit is well-developed, and you execute tasks proficiently.

• You are a comprehensive editor, capable of managing the entire post-production process, including editing, sound, color, graphics, and export.

• Your primary editing tool is Premiere Pro, which is our chosen platform.

• You are skilled at managing your own schedule, proactively identifying potential issues, and communicating effectively to ensure that no one has to chase you for updates or check on the status of an edit.

• You have experience in the online education, coaching, and information product sector.
