Video Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Compile multicam interview footage into coherent narratives based on transcripts and creative briefs.

• Edit music-driven b-roll sequences with a strong sense of pacing.

• Conduct basic color correction and grading tasks.

• Mix dialogue, music beds, and room tone with clarity.

• Develop lower thirds, titles, and basic motion graphics in accordance with branding specifications.

• Provide exports that meet specifications for web, social media, and event presentations.

• Integrate client feedback over two to three rounds while maintaining the integrity of the original edit.

• Operate on a project-by-project basis as a member of May Street’s pool of freelance editors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, with expertise in multicam workflows, shortcuts, and organized project management.

• Capable of refining dialogue audio to meet broadcast-ready standards.

• Familiarity with After Effects for creating titles and basic graphics.

• Experience in editing interview-based or documentary-style content.

• Dependable turnaround times and effective communication regarding workload capacity.

• Possess own hardware and software licenses.

• Have an internet connection capable of supporting large media file transfers.

• Provide a reel or portfolio showcasing at least two relevant works.

• Preferred: experience in color grading.

• Preferred: knowledge of nonprofit or educational clients.

• Preferred: comfort with cloud-based client review processes.
