Veterinary Student Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as a committed representative of the ASPCA® at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

• Stay updated on all student externship opportunities and resources presented by the ASPCA®.

• Establish and maintain relationships with fellow veterinary medicine students and campus student organizations.

• Serve as a resource for students looking to learn more about the ASPCA®, including our initiatives, veterinary training externship opportunities, resources, and career pathways.

• Function as a point of contact and liaison to relay information about upcoming campus events and potential collaboration opportunities to the ASPCA® Director of Campus Relations.

• Support the logistical planning and execution of campus events (e.g., conferences, career fairs) and activities with student groups (e.g., workshops, presentations, lunch and learns).

• Present opportunities to student organizations and encourage participation by promoting upcoming events.

• Create written communications regarding the ASPCA and forthcoming events for students.

• Maintain academic excellence and prioritize your education.

• Adhere to the rules and policies of your school.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be in good academic standing.

• Strong alignment with the Mission and Core Values of the ASPCA®.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with peers.

• Active participation in at least one student group related to the core mission of the ASPCA® (e.g., shelter medicine, animal welfare, DEI-focused group, forensics).

• Not currently serving as a student Representative for another veterinary or animal welfare organization, non-profit, or company.

• Ability to commit an average of 3 hours per week during the semester to fulfill the responsibilities of an ASPCA® Student Representative.

• Ability to work independently (self-starter).

• High level of maturity and professionalism.

• Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email correspondence.

• Capability to temporarily store informational and promotional items for distribution among CVM peers on campus.

• Language requirement: English (mandatory).
