This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.
• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.
• Verify vehicle identification, including VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately enter data into systems.
• Inspect and document both the exterior and interior condition of vehicles, covering tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboard, and installed options.
• Perform basic mechanical evaluations across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Identify and document any damage, missing components, or non-operational features.
• Establish trust with dealer clients and inform them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Engage with dealers to enhance inspection volume and maintain their participation.
• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to optimize inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.
• Adjust daily appointments and schedules to ensure comprehensive dealer coverage.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, peers, and other teams at Manheim.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements and Lean process enhancements.
• Meet production expectations while adhering to safety, health, inspection, and compliance standards.
• Senior-level inspectors are expected to perform advanced inspections, mentor peers, assist with onboarding, and act as subject matter experts.
• Candidates must reside in Plano, McKinney, or Garland, Texas.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.
• Level 2 requires a High School Diploma or GED along with 3+ years of related-field experience, or a combination of degree/certification and experience, or 5 years of related-field experience.
• For Senior Level, a High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of related-field experience is required, or a combination of degree/certification and experience, or 7 years of related-field experience.
• Minimal automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience are preferred for Level 1.
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience are preferred for Level 2.
• Prior vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level positions.
• Strong automotive knowledge in both body and mechanical areas is essential for Senior Level roles.
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.
• One year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level candidates.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability to fulfill the physical and mental demands of the role within necessary timeframes.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship will be provided now or in the future.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision while demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
• Compliance with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy, is mandatory.
