Variant Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Precisely categorize somatic and germline variants for liquid biopsy, panel tests, and whole exome NGS sequencing.

• Employ various in-house software applications to analyze clinical molecular data effectively.

• Review and interpret scientific literature, curating relevant insights in a coherent manner.

• Condense somatic and inherited genetic test findings to produce high-quality clinical reports.

• Execute essential quality control processes for molecular reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• MS, GC, or PhD degree in Cancer Genetics, Human Genetics, or Biological Sciences.

• Previous experience in a diagnostic laboratory and proficiency in clinical report writing.

• Knowledge of human mutation databases, genome browsers, and HGVS nomenclature.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
