This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a senior leader within the Unclaimed Property practice group with the potential to advance to a practice leader position.
• Support leadership in identifying growth prospects and aiding in the strategic direction of the practice.
• Engage in networking events, conferences, webinars, speaking engagements, and other thought leadership activities.
• Develop thought leadership regarding abandoned and unclaimed property (“AUP”), which includes creating marketing materials, articles, presentations, and client alerts.
• Establish and nurture relationships with current and potential clients, external legal advisors, private equity firms, and other referral sources.
• Collaborate with CBIZ practice office teams to address client AUP matters.
• Oversee large unclaimed property initiatives spanning multiple years (e.g., voluntary disclosures and audit controversies), which includes preparing and reviewing engagement deliverables (such as research, analysis conclusions, memoranda, working papers, etc.).
• Manage the annual compliance process (which includes reviewing annual reports, overseeing the due diligence process, monitoring legislative changes, and communicating with clients, etc.).
• Supervise consulting and compliance team members, focusing on mentoring and development.
• Handle personnel management tasks, including scheduling, training, recruiting, etc.
• Responsible for client management and administrative duties such as budgeting, monthly billing, collections, and financial performance.
• Demonstrates excellence in creative problem solving, critical thinking, and professional writing.
• Promotes a team-oriented environment; shows support for management decisions and cultivates a positive culture.
• Upholds and adheres to the highest standards of professional ethics, client confidentiality, and personal conduct.
• Capable of multitasking, meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively, thinking independently, and solving problems in a results-driven, team-oriented setting.
• Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills, both internally within CBIZ and externally with clients.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• 8 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
• 6 years of supervisory experience.
• An active CPA or equivalent certification is mandatory.
• Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple assignments, and prioritize tasks as needed.
• Proficient in the use of relevant technology.
• Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
• A demonstrated high level of business integrity, client service, and leadership abilities.
