Tutor Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Observe and provide virtual support to Math and Reading Tutors as they prepare for and conduct high-quality virtual tutoring sessions in mathematics and literacy.

• Implement a variety of coaching techniques, such as structured feedback, modeling, recording exemplars, co-planning sessions, and professional development.

• Organize and lead internal team meetings that focus on tutor development.

• Design and conduct ongoing professional development aimed at enhancing content knowledge, instructional techniques, and adherence to implementation standards.

• Develop tools, systems, and training materials to onboard new Math and Reading Tutors effectively.

• Identify patterns in tutor performance, student requirements, and challenges in implementation, and propose appropriate supports or modifications to the program.

• Collaborate with the Program Manager to set clear expectations and ensure tutors adhere to schedules and lesson plans with fidelity.

• Assist in learning walks, account assessments, and presentations for school and district stakeholders.

• Create and lead professional development sessions for district and school leaders utilizing Amplify Tutoring resources.

• Customize professional development sessions with the Tutor Talent team to meet customer-specific needs.

• Highlight insights regarding tutoring practices, program implementation, and areas for growth.

• Utilize AI tools responsibly to enhance quality, optimize workflows, increase efficiency, and support coaching, planning, communication, and resource development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in K-8 school settings.

• At least 3 years of coaching experience for teachers or tutors in both individual and group environments at the school or district level.

• Proven experience in delivering interventions within a school context.

• Experience in providing professional development to district and school leaders.

• Strong understanding of elementary math instruction, student cognitive processes, and effective teaching strategies.

• Capability to coach tutors towards rigorous and engaging discussions in mathematics.

• Familiarity with the Science of Reading and best practices in early literacy instruction.

• Ability to guide tutors in the explicit and effective instruction of foundational literacy skills.

• Knowledge of instructional methodologies, differentiated instruction, and practices that promote student engagement.

• Comprehensive understanding of using student data to inform instructional practices and facilitate growth.

• Proficiency in using Google Meet, Google Docs, Google platforms, and AI tools like Google Gemini or ChatGPT.

• Availability to work during East Coast time zone hours.

• Successful completion of a background check and any other required documentation or enhanced screening is necessary if hired.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.
