Travel Pay Analyst – Subject Matter Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage travel entitlements, including per diem, lodging, and mileage, ensuring compliance with the JTR and other relevant policies.

• Supervise travel payment services for USSF part-time participants.

• Offer support with the Defense Travel System (DTS).

• Assist with requests for the Air Force Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserve (AROWS-R) for participants on Annual Tour, Inactive Duty Training, and Active Duty for Operational Support.

• Act as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) for all assigned personnel.

• Evaluate travel vouchers for approval and payment.

• Ensure accuracy in UTAPS; oversee workflow, manage workload distribution, and provide timely customer service.

• Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to financial management regulations; assist with inspections, audits, and readiness obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Acts as a subject matter expert with extensive knowledge of business and/or financial operations roles.

• At least five (5) years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the position (e.g., finance, accounting, business administration, or a similar field).

• Capability to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); must fulfill background investigation criteria to access controlled unclassified information (CUI) and DoD facilities.

• Familiarity with the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and DAFI 65-series regulations.

• Required systems knowledge: Defense Travel System (DTS); Reserve Travel System (RTS); Air Force Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserve (AROWS-R); UTAPS monitoring; and experience as a Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA).
