This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize specialized clinical expertise to assist hospital partners by categorizing, coding, summarizing, interpreting, and calculating registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Ensure the accurate submission of all data in designated registries or measurement data repositories, maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
• Prioritize, organize, and meet tight deadlines for multiple simultaneous tasks and requests from the team; exercise tact and judgment to manage expectations, identify obstacles, and suggest timely solutions.
• Navigate new technical systems, including electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; leverage team resources to address technical challenges with systems and applications, focusing on solutions.
• Contribute to best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents for the team; identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance task and process efficiency.
• Stay informed about mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements as outlined by federal, state, payer, and other relevant agencies.
• Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Experience with Level 2 Facility Trauma Registry abstraction at a direct level.
• Completion of the ATS (American Trauma Society) Course.
• Completion of AAAM Training or AIS 15 Coding Course.
• Completion of the Annual TQIP Education.
• ICD-10 Training and Certification obtained within the last 5 years.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
