This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide high-quality solutions to hospital partners by abstracting trauma data and managing clinical quality data.
• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and extract information from complex, unstructured patient medical records.
• Gather and report eligible Trauma cases in accordance with current state regulations and the requirements of national accrediting bodies.
• Accurately submit data to designated registries or measure data repositories.
• Assist hospital partners in achieving ACS Accreditation using NTDB/TQIP quality tools.
• Conduct timely data abstraction while applying knowledge of standards that promote quality patient care.
• Remain updated on federal, state, payer, and other regulatory and publicly reported data obligations.
• Contribute to the establishment of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency and workflows.
• Collaborate with and aid in the development of CDQS and SCDS team members.
• Experience with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• High standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Technologically proficient and eager to learn new systems and technologies.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage time across multiple accounts and adapt to shifting timelines and priorities.
• Dedicated to maintaining information security and confidentiality of PHI.
• Must possess an AIS 15 Coding Certification.
• A minimum of 6 months experience abstracting in a Trauma Registry at any Trauma Level.
• Familiarity with patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skill level in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship.
• Must be committed to working 30 or more hours per week to qualify as full-time.
