This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Collaborate with injured workers, employers, and healthcare providers to develop case management strategies.
• Support medical recovery and facilitate a successful return to work through advocacy, communication, and coordination of healthcare services.
• Conduct initial and ongoing clinical assessments via telephone.
• Assess injuries, medical treatments, psychosocial needs, cultural factors, and support networks.
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with claims examiners, clients, injured workers, attorneys, and supervisors.
• Identify issues related to delayed recovery or return-to-work and creatively address challenges.
• Negotiate treatment plans and disability duration with providers based on medical and disability-duration guidelines.
• Discover opportunities to expedite care for cost control and timely medical recovery.
• Suggest alternative clinical resources to facilitate claim resolution.
• Uphold client privacy and confidentiality, advocate for safety, and adhere to ethical, legal, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
• Must possess a current unrestricted RN license(s) in a U.S. state or territory.
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Certification in case management, rehabilitation nursing, or a related specialty is highly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in medical/clinical or rehabilitation fields.
• Ability to think clearly and conceptually.
• Strong judgment, troubleshooting skills, problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and discretion.
• Capability to manage work-related stress.
• Proficient in handling multiple priorities concurrently.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines.
• Competence in computer keyboarding.
• Proficient hearing, vision, and verbal communication abilities.
