Telephone Triage Nurse – Care on Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• The Triage Nurse position offers primary care patients telephone access to a highly skilled and trained registered nurse who effectively addresses their inquiries and medical concerns during the operational hours of primary care offices.

• Delivers appropriate and courteous telephone guidance, including care plans and patient education, to callers in accordance with established protocols.

• Accurately evaluates each patient's condition by actively listening to callers and posing relevant questions. Identifies urgent situations and efficiently directs life-threatening calls to the appropriate agencies as per protocol.

• Properly and accurately records initial and ongoing telephone interactions, ensuring documentation is completed immediately after each call concludes.

• Makes outbound follow-up calls to caregivers as necessary.

• Effectively communicates information to the on-call physician as needed, either via telephone or by routing relevant information through EPIC.

• Operates independently while adhering to organizational standards and fundamental values.

• Participates in staff meetings and mandatory departmental gatherings.

• Accommodates the department's needs by adjusting hours as required based on seasonal changes and call volume.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred; candidates with an Associate's Degree must be actively enrolled in a BSN program.

• 3-5 years of relevant job experience.

• Active Registered Nurse Licenses for Pennsylvania and Florida must be obtained within 90 days of the hire date.

• Nurses living in interstate compact states (DE, NJ, or MD) who possess a multistate license for their state of residence will not be required to obtain separate PA or FL licensure.
