This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Analyze requests for proposals (RFPs, RFIs) to identify requirements, compliance standards, and evaluation criteria
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts to collect technical, budgetary, and project planning details
• Compose, revise, and finalize sections of technical proposals, which include the technical approach, system architecture, implementation strategies, evaluation metrics, deliverables, staffing plans, timelines, budget narratives, and executive summaries
• Compile and format comprehensive proposal packages in accordance with formatting guidelines, templates, page limits, submission criteria, and internal standards
• Maintain and refresh a reusable content library containing templates, past performance summaries, resumes/capabilities, boilerplate text, and graphics
• Oversee deadlines and submission timelines, coordinate review and feedback cycles, and secure final approvals
• Ensure writing quality, consistency, adherence to RFP requirements, clarity, and overall readability
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business development teams to translate technical solutions into engaging narratives
• 3–5+ years of experience in technical writing, proposal writing, or business development documentation; experience with IT/engineering/government proposals is preferred
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC)
• Proficiency in crafting persuasive technical content that balances technical intricacies with business value
• Capability to interpret architectural diagrams or code snippets in JSON, Python, or Java
• Skill in simplifying complex technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and content management/proposal management software
• Familiarity with graphic/layout tools is a plus
• Strong grasp of proposal development methodologies such as Shipley, APMP, or similar frameworks
• Excellent writing, grammar, editing, proofreading, and communication abilities
• Outstanding organizational, time-management, and project coordination skills
• Capacity to manage multiple proposals under tight deadlines
• Ability to collaborate across teams, engage with subject-matter experts, and oversee feedback and iterations
