This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Act as the authority on database design, structure, and best practices across both relational and cloud-native database platforms.
• Offer expert consulting on database architecture and optimization within cloud environments, including Snowflake, AWS, Fabric/Azure, and GCP.
• Design, implement, and sustain databases for both transactional and analytical workloads.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and DevOps teams to seamlessly integrate databases into cloud solutions.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and security standards.
• Assess and recommend emerging database technologies and tools.
• Architect, manage, and optimize data assets within cloud-native and hybrid data platforms.
• Support enterprise integration initiatives and efforts for data modernization.
• Provide strategic direction on scalable data solution design, implementation, and governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience as a Database Architect.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cloud-based setting.
• Extensive knowledge of database design principles, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
• Demonstrated experience with ETL processes.
• Certifications in cloud platforms such as Snowflake Certified, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or Fabric/Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• Proficiency in relational databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
• Experience with NoSQL databases is advantageous.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, PowerShell or Bash scripting, and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of data security, access controls, and compliance regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with both business and technical teams.
