This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
β’ Take ownership of the technical success of an engagement, ensuring architectural consistency and reuse across services, data, and AI components.
β’ Drive technical decisions and document them as Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), such as database engine selection, service versus library boundaries, and integration patterns.
β’ Lead architecture review boards and address design dependencies across teams.
β’ Establish engineering standards including trunk-based development, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform/Bicep, CI gates, SLSA L2 provenance, OpenAPI 3.x, and AsyncAPI 2.x contracts, as well as idempotent integration patterns.
β’ Oversee code and design reviews, enforce quality gates, and ensure SOC 2 control mappings (logical access, monitoring, change management, audit trail).
β’ Plan and coordinate delivery cadence, including the sequencing of build and release windows for engagements subject to production blackout constraints.
β’ Collaborate with client product owners to convert domain knowledge into technical designs.
β’ Mentor engineers on Azure architecture, event sourcing, durable orchestration, and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) design patterns.
β’ Execute agile delivery in 2-week sprints with monthly stakeholder demonstrations, hypercare planning, and post-go-live support.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
β’ Over 8 years of professional engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical lead or staff engineer role focused on multi-team delivery.
β’ Expert-level knowledge in Azure architecture, including Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry, Document Intelligence, AI Search, Container Apps or AKS, API Management, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Entra ID.
β’ Proven proficiency in leading complex software delivery, encompassing architectural design, ADR-driven decisions, event sourcing, Domain-Driven Design (DDD) bounded contexts, and SOC 2 control mapping.
β’ Strong skills in .NET (C#) and Python; capability to establish patterns across both languages within the same engagement.
β’ Practical experience with Medallion data architecture, RAG patterns, prompt versioning and guardrails, and human-in-the-loop workflow design.
β’ Experience in leading CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps, IaC (Terraform/Bicep), and trunk-based development with quality gates.
β’ Proven background in financial services, professional services, or other regulated environments with stringent audit and compliance requirements.
β’ Strong skills in code review, mentorship, and technical communication; ability to facilitate architecture discussions with both engineering teams and client executives.
β’ Familiarity with durable orchestration (Azure Durable Functions or its equivalent) is advantageous.
β’ Experience with integrating enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., financial, ERP, document management systems) is an advantage.
β’ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong communication, collaboration, customer orientation, innovative mindset, and adaptability in ambiguous situations.
