Tech Lead, Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Identify and prioritize significant technical and product challenges.

• Design and oversee scalable backend and data infrastructures.

• Make architectural decisions encompassing data, services, and system interfaces.

• Ensure systems operate efficiently, reliably, and are scalable under real-world scenarios.

• Lead execution efforts through collaboration with others rather than solely through individual contributions.

• Collaborate with the Product team to guarantee that technical initiatives advance business objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in databases (Critical).

• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (SQL).

• Experience with:

• Query optimization.

• Indexing strategies.

• Transactions & isolation levels.

• Concurrency control.

• Ability to evaluate performance and trade-offs at the data layer.

• Strong understanding of Distributed Systems and System Design.

• Strong understanding of:

• Queues, message brokers, and asynchronous processing.

• Microservices and their boundaries.

• Load balancing, CDNs, and the request lifecycle.

• Capability to design comprehensive systems rather than just standalone services.

• Solid fundamentals in Backend Foundations.

• Strong fundamentals in:

• APIs, services, and system architecture.

• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean design principles.

• Proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript.

• Comprehends the reasons behind building something, not just the methods.

• Makes pragmatic decisions (80/20 mindset) that align with business impacts.

• Avoids over-engineering solutions.

• Leads through clarity, reasoning, and trust rather than authority.

• Capable of fostering alignment among engineers and stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills.
