This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the development team by providing both technical and line-management guidance.
• Take charge of ensuring the successful execution of projects.
• Proactively identify and address blockers before they escalate into issues.
• Uphold best practices in software development, DevOps, and agile methodologies within the team.
• Collaborate directly with clients, converting requirements into technical specifications.
• Influence and establish architectural decisions to guarantee scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Communicate updates to clients and Nearform leadership to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project status and facilitate informed decision-making.
• Extensive experience in software engineering along with a minimum of 2 years in a Technical Lead role, including project leadership and mentoring. For this position, we seek professional expertise in Golang and/or Python, as well as a modern Frontend tech stack (React/Angular/TypeScript).
• Experience in developing AI applications and working with Agentic frameworks and platforms (e.g., LangGraph, Agentspace, etc.).
• Proven experience in direct client engagement to comprehend technical requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in using Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Strong background in CI/CD practices, including hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, and other cloud-native Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of observability practices, with hands-on experience using OpenTelemetry (OTel) and associated tools.
• Experience in leading software engineering teams through technical deliveries, including either direct line management or mentoring.
• Comprehensive understanding of agile methodologies, best practices, and design patterns.
• Profound knowledge of test-driven development and testing best practices.
• Strong command of version control systems, such as Git.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Awareness of operational aspects, including monitoring, performance testing, security considerations, accessibility, and GDPR compliance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy.
