This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
⢠The Teacher Induction Program at Reach University enhances schools by cultivating and maintaining highly effective, equity-focused educators through personalized and collaborative mentoring.
⢠A contract mentor is tasked with offering mentorship via collaborative circles for teachers involved in the Teacher Induction Program at Reach University.
⢠Mentors establish strong connections with participating teachers, grounded in mutual respect, trust, and collaboration.
⢠This relationship serves as the cornerstone for effective mentorship, aimed at supporting teachers in both their professional and personal growth.
⢠Mentors are required to facilitate a collaborative mentorship circle with their teachers for a minimum of 30 hours annually (approximately 1 hour weekly) to offer mentoring, coaching, and assistance with TIP deliverables (individualized learning plans and inquiry cycles).
⢠Responsibilities also include engaging in a minimum of three to four formal observation cycles each year; conducting two one-on-one sessions with each participating teacher; providing timely asynchronous support through communication; and participating in professional development three to four times a year.
⢠Ideal candidates possess experience in teaching or coaching with a focus on equity and can implement a human- and relationship-centered approach to coaching.
⢠Prior experience in mentoring new teachers is essential.
⢠Comprehensive knowledge and experience in education, including school leadership, instructional coaching, and professional development facilitation, are required.
⢠A proven track record of effective teaching, scholarship, or educational leadership is necessary.
⢠Applicants must have strong communication abilities.
⢠Experience in managing group dynamics is required.
⢠The ability to tailor support based on the needs of participating teachers is essential.
⢠Candidates should be organized, accountable, and capable of fostering collaboration.
⢠A valid California Teaching Credential and three years of documented teaching experience are required.
⢠Familiarity with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs) is preferred.
⢠Compensation of $3,500 for each collaborative mentorship circle (mentoring three candidates) per year, contingent upon meeting all mentor expectations; payments will be divided into two installments after each semester.
⢠Pay will be prorated for smaller mentorship circles (i.e., 1 or 2 candidates).
