Tax Reviewer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Evaluate Federal and State business income tax returns prepared by team members, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant tax laws.

• Detect errors, discrepancies, and missing information, providing constructive feedback and guidance to tax preparers.

• Review tax calculations, supporting documentation, and client data prior to finalizing returns.

• Collaborate closely with Tax Preparers to address technical tax issues and enhance the quality of filings.

• Assist with intricate tax matters, tax notices, amendments, and client questions.

• Engage directly with clients through email and video calls when additional clarification or tax advice is required.

• Work alongside the broader Tax team to meet filing deadlines during the tax season.

• Conduct research on U.S. federal and state tax regulations to ensure accurate tax treatment.

• Play a role in enhancing internal tax processes, documentation, and quality assurance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA license.

• Active PTIN or the capability to obtain one before the tax season starts.

• Experience in reviewing Federal and State business income tax returns.

• In-depth knowledge of business tax compliance, including quarterly estimates, tax notices, and tax dispute resolution.

• Familiarity with Form 1120, Form 5472, and Form 1065, especially for non-U.S. business owners and partnerships.

• Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues in a remote work setting, including through video meetings.

• Exceptional analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Robust problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
