This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and evaluate high-level individual, fiduciary, estate, and gift tax return submissions.
• Manage and review exempt organization filings for family foundations and associated charities, including Forms 990, 990-PF, and 990-T, while supervising compliance calendars and state charitable registrations.
• Ensure adherence to multi-state probate, inheritance, estate, and individual income tax laws and regulations, coordinating filings and requirements across various jurisdictions.
• Supervise the preparation of estate, trust, and guardianship fiduciary accountings to maintain transparency and accountability in estate and asset management.
• Conduct research on federal and state tax laws by situs, draft technical tax memorandums, and create innovative tax strategies customized to meet the distinct needs of clients.
• Offer ongoing consulting and scenario modeling, including multi-year income, estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and fiduciary tax projections, as well as estimated tax planning and distribution strategies for individuals, trusts, estates, and private foundations.
• Review and assess estate planning-related legal documents, ensuring that all strategies are in harmony with clients’ objectives and legal requirements.
• Manage multiple client engagements and all facets of client accounts, nurturing trusted, long-lasting relationships.
• Mentor and coach team members, delivering timely, constructive feedback and guidance.
• Engage in business development through networking, speaking opportunities, and publishing thought leadership articles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred.
• JD or LLM credentials will be considered and are welcomed.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of recent experience in estate, gift, and trust tax within a law firm, accounting firm, IRS/Treasury, and/or bank or corporation.
• Experience with Form 990 is preferred.
• Possesses extensive knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and trust tax regulations and statutes, including the impact of situs on planning, compliance, and administration across jurisdictions.
• Ability to navigate complex estate planning scenarios effectively.
• Familiarity with accounting and tax software.
• Highly motivated with a strong desire to advance and develop this practice area.
• Passionate about assisting clients with estate planning, compliance, and wealth transfer needs.
• Interest in fostering collaborative relationships and striving to find optimal solutions.
• Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements (primarily local).
• Openness to participate in business development activities (training and guidance will be provided).
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
