This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Preparation and analysis of VAT returns on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis.
• Generate Intrastat and EU Sales reports, including any additional country-specific reports as needed.
• Ensure compliance with country-specific regulations and obligations, meeting all report deadlines.
• Execute VAT clearing postings and manage the VAT liquidation process.
• Conduct detailed quarterly account reconciliations along with Intrastat and EU sales report reconciliations.
• Perform annual sales reconciliations when necessary.
• Assist in the foreign VAT reclaim process.
• Address erroneous account receivable and payable entries.
• Prepare transaction matrices and cash pool data for Transfer Pricing purposes.
• Conduct 4k testing for Transfer Pricing as mandated by the German Tax Code.
• Develop the tax moving schedule.
• Implement SOX controls for Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
• Prepare e-balance sheets for CIT.
• Collaborate with Business Tax Managers and Country Tax Leaders.
• Work alongside other functions, providing support by responding to tax-related inquiries.
• Assist the Novelis Europe Tax team with various administrative tax tasks, such as setting up supply purchase orders in SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a finance-related field.
• Proficient in written and spoken English (C1 level).
• Working proficiency in German (minimum B2 level, upper intermediate).
• Strong knowledge of the European tax system, particularly VAT and corporate income taxation.
• Familiarity with European Transfer Pricing principles.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Effective communication and influencing skills; ability to adapt to changes easily.
• Experience in a Global Business, Shared Service Center, or Accounting Firm is preferred.
• Practical experience with local and/or international VAT regulations is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SAP systems is preferred.
