This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assists the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in modernizing the LAN/WLAN as part of the centralized design and support team.
• Creates, verifies, and sustains configurations for enterprise network devices that cater to Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) and related outlying medical sites.
• Collaborates closely with network engineers, implementation teams, and Government stakeholders.
• Executes configuration packages for switches, routers, wireless controllers, and servers, ensuring validation of configurations, supporting engineering documentation, and offering remote technical assistance during implementations.
• Occasional travel may be necessary to conduct server surveys or to provide specialized server expertise during installations upon request.
• Develops configuration packages for switches, routers, wireless controllers, and servers in compliance with approved engineering designs, SIPs, and DHA technical standards.
• Implements sanctioned network modifications in alignment with DHA standards, project specifications, and change management procedures.
• Confirms the operational performance of deployed LAN/WLAN systems and verifies proper network functionality after configuration updates.
• Assists with cutover functions, including pre-cutover preparation, execution support, post-cutover validation, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnoses network configuration, connectivity, and performance challenges using established diagnostic tools and methodologies.
• Collaborates with network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity personnel, project managers, and field implementation teams to ensure configuration packages effectively meet project needs.
• Maintains documentation on configurations, version control, configuration baselines, and technical records that support contract deliverables.
• Assists with network implementation, testing, and documentation tasks in enterprise settings.
• Ensures that all configuration efforts adhere to DHA technical standards, cybersecurity mandates, quality processes, and configuration management protocols.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• A minimum of two relevant certifications, such as in systems and network administration, network and systems management control, or systems and/or network protocols.
• Experience in configuring and supporting enterprise LAN/WLAN infrastructure.
• Proven understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless networking, network security basics, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience in configuring enterprise switches, routers, wireless controllers, and related network devices.
• Background in supporting network engineering, configuration management, cutover, system validation, testing, and technical documentation tasks in enterprise environments.
• Capability to interpret engineering drawings, network diagrams, implementation plans, configuration standards, and change control processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, technical documentation, and coordination abilities.
• Active T3 Secret clearance is mandatory. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain all necessary access and security credentials throughout the contract duration.
