This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide support for both internal and external IT operations, as well as internal networking and DevOps processes related to development initiatives.
• Utilize tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and others to oversee, manage, and automate Linux servers and network devices.
• Deploy and sustain customer-facing applications within a containerized setting, utilizing various orchestration platforms and configuration templates.
• Develop and maintain runbooks for routine operations, incident response, and disaster recovery, automating repetitive tasks wherever feasible.
• Design, construct, and manage centralized logging and observability pipelines (ELK/EFK, Prometheus/Grafana, or cloud-native alternatives); create alert rules and dashboards to emphasize key metrics.
• Transform manual legacy configurations into Infrastructure as Code (IaC); containerize legacy applications and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Incorporate host- and container-level vulnerability scanning into build pipelines.
• Create scripts and automation (Bash, Python) to minimize manual tasks.
• Configure and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Guide peers on container concepts, IaC, and best practices in DevSecOps.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Strong understanding of core networking principles.
• Proficient in Linux, with familiarity in both CentOS and Ubuntu.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Capability to learn and comprehend current and evolving technologies, both at a high and detailed level.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
• Knowledge of container orchestration concepts—deploying and managing containers at scale with templated configurations.
• Experience with cloud management—specifically AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch) or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with centralized logging and monitoring (ELK/EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, or cloud-native solutions).
• Understanding of IT security fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and applications.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation and diagnostics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of creating runbooks, documentation, and training others.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive; demonstrates sound judgment in escalating issues.
• Relevant experience can substitute for any of the aforementioned requirements.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing Linux server infrastructure (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and security).
• At least two (2) years of experience managing containerization and orchestration concepts in a production environment.
• At least two (2) years of experience managing AWS or other cloud environments—designing VPCs, provisioning services, and implementing IaC.
• Experience in migrating legacy systems to IaC frameworks and automating deployments.
• Participation in on-call support rotation for 24x7 support.
• Minimal domestic travel required, approximately 5%.
• Work is primarily conducted in a remote office environment.
