System Safety Compliance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Norway.

📋 Description

• Serve as a contributor to product safety and compliance within R&D projects, ensuring that safety principles are integrated into system architecture and detailed design.

• Engage in risk assessments and safety analyses (such as hazard analysis and risk reduction measures) for intricate electromechanical and automated systems.

• Analyze and implement international product safety standards and regulations (CE, EN, IEC, ISO, NRTL) within a practical engineering framework.

• Offer hands-on technical guidance to engineering teams throughout development, design evaluations, and change management processes.

• Assist in shaping the product safety and compliance strategy throughout the product lifecycle, encompassing development, verification, and market access.

• Collaborate with external testing laboratories, notified bodies, and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and certifications.

• Provide expert insights on safety and regulatory matters to Product Management, Sales, and Operations for successful global market access.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of engineering experience in product development, system engineering, or safety-critical design within the manufacturing, machinery, automation, or industrial equipment sectors.

• At least 3 years of experience in product compliance, with a strong understanding of the CE conformity assessment procedure within the EU; experience with other markets is a plus.

• Relevant higher education or equivalent experience in electrical/electronics, machinery, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Strong technical foundation in electrical, mechanical, systems, or software engineering.

• Experience in conducting risk assessments and contributing to the development of safety concepts for complex products.

• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into effective, engineer-friendly design solutions.

• Experience in Global Market Access for machinery and electrical equipment; knowledge of Chemical/Material Compliance is an advantage.
