This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive strategies for pathology services that align with both laboratory and organizational objectives.
• Supervise the alignment of market pathology groups with ministry goals to ensure efficiency, consistency, and excellence in service delivery.
• Create and, where feasible, standardize productivity and performance metrics for pathology across the ministry.
• Offer guidance to market medical directors in establishing quality assurance programs, which include proficiency testing, peer reviews, and internal audits.
• Stay updated on the latest best practices, technologies, and regulatory standards in pathology and laboratory medicine.
• Promote transparency and collaboration among pathology groups across various markets by fostering a culture of continuous improvement in pathology services.
• Lead the Clinical & Scientific Board, Lab Regulatory Oversight Committee, Lab Stewardship Committee, Patient Blood Management Committee, and other enterprise-wide committees, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
• Ensure compliance of site medical directors with all federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining good standing with market medical operations.
• Provide constructive feedback to the executive leadership team and market leadership regarding the performance and assessment of site medical directors.
• Engage in strategic discussions regarding the analysis of test internalization and the evaluation of new equipment.
• Collaborate with the executive leadership team to promote cost-effective service delivery with an emphasis on enhancing quality.
• Act as a key liaison among pathology, clinical departments, hospital leadership, and external partners.
• At least 5 years of experience as a CLIA Lab Director.
• Demonstrated and successful background in regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and laboratory stewardship.
• A doctorate or PhD in life or health sciences, along with certification in clinical/medical laboratory sciences or laboratory medicine is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of expertise in pathology and laboratory medicine within a multi-site or integrated healthcare system.
• Experience with Epic EHR and Beaker LIMS.
• Familiarity with digital pathology.
