This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Support in the creation and revision of essential narrative chapters for integrated reports, annual disclosures, governance documents, and committee communications.
• Generate focused report segments that emphasize Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement frameworks, and risk disclosures.
• Transform complex, highly technical operational or financial information into clear, concise, and easily understandable business narratives.
• Revise extensive documents to ensure impeccable grammar, a consistent stylistic tone, complete accuracy in cross-references, and maximum readability.
• Validate narrative claims against financial spreadsheets, ensuring consistency between text disclosures, tables, charts, and data visualizations.
• Partner in developing professional stakeholder interview guides and content templates to enhance data collection processes.
• Gradually familiarize and incorporate contemporary corporate reporting standards, including the International Integrated Reporting Framework, GRI, IFRS Sustainability Disclosures, JSE Guidance, and King V principles.
• A minimum of 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate writing, institutional editing, or technical publishing.
• Demonstrated foundational business writing skills complemented by exceptional English editing and proofreading abilities.
• Proven ability to identify key corporate themes, comprehend value creation models, and exhibit strong general business insight.
• Keen attention to detail and a high level of personal discretion when handling confidential information.
• Proven ability to stay organized under tight publication deadlines and effectively manage multiple document revisions.
• While specific skills are prioritized over degrees, a completed tertiary qualification in English, Journalism, Corporate Communications, Sustainability, Business Management, Finance, or Economics is highly beneficial.
• Previous hands-on experience in editing or drafting integrated reports for JSE-listed companies.
• Direct knowledge of fundamental global sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word (including advanced formatting, version tracking, and style configurations).
• Complete flexibility for a remote workspace.
