Structural Engineering Portfolio Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the activities of individual contributors within the team.

• Direct the execution of structural analysis and design tasks.

• Supervise the preparation and verification of structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.

• Examine existing conditions and generate detailed reports.

• Ensure adherence to building codes throughout project execution.

• Coordinate cross-discipline operations to facilitate smooth project execution.

• Manage the construction phase efforts of the team, including oversight of shop drawings and RFI reviews.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by establishing clear expectations, offering feedback, and promoting a culture of engagement, growth, and accountability.

• Oversee workload planning, performance management, and team operations to align resources with business goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt and undertake various additional assignments as needs evolve.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in structural engineering or a related field.

• Proven track record in management roles and leadership positions.

• Typically certified in BC’s Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structural engineering, or a related field, along with professional certification is mandatory for this position.
